Its easy to think that a company has high expectations of its employees, however a company that provide each employee with an employee handbook, it allows the employees to better understand what is expected of them. Although the department and job descriptions are different the employer still expects the same competency, unity, and quality to be carried out by each employee. If you do not understand what the policy is, why there is a policy, or how it can help you then an employee can begin to behave in an unprofessional way. “If you do need to discipline an employee, if you need to write them up or suspend them, you never want an employee to turn around and say, ‘wait a minute, I didnt know I was going to get written up if I was absent more than three times in a month.
