A flamingo with a body le... ngth of 1.2 feet has a leg length of 2.5 feet. Part A: Determine to the nearest thousandth the leg length of a flamingo whose body is 1.4 feet, showing all work. Given the above scenario, to figure out the leg length of a flamingo whose body is 1.4 feet, do the following equation using x as the unknown leg length. = 1.2 * x = 2.5 * 1.4 1.2x = 3.5 Divide both sides by 1.2 to get x by itself and the answer is x= 2.197 so the flamingos leg length is 2.197 feet. Part B: Convert the leg length determined in part A from feet (ft.) to centimeters (cm), showing all work. Round the answer to the nearest tenth. In part A, the leg length of the flamingo was determined to be 2.197 feet. To convert this measurement to centimeters, I will use the following formula: = 1x = 30.48 * 2.197 1x = 88.91016 x = 88.91016 centimeters Rounded to the nearest tenth the answer is: the flamingos leg is 88.9 cm long.
