JXT2 Task 1.docx (1) Educational Psychology, JXT2 Task One WGU Washington My current instructional setting is a third-grade class in Lakewood, Washington. Lakewood is set in a city like communit... y with a low to mid-levels of pay. My class comprises of twenty-four students that range from low to high levels academically. Every student is seated in groups of four for better collaboration. There are two tables set in the back of the class where students may turn in assignments, sharpen pencils, and use tissues if needed. I also have a corner full of soft foam chairs for reading time. In this paper I will talk about two human development theories that I will use in my instructional setting. Human Developmental Theories The main human development theory I will talk about is Erik Erikson's theory of psychosocial development. This theory recommends that character development occurs in eight phases, beginning as a newborn child and going to adulthood. Erikson accepted that so as to finish each stage one must keep up a sound character and environment. In the event that a phase was not completed, at that point it would be hard for a human to push ahead in stages. The eight phases of development are as per the following; autonomy versus shame and doubt, initiative versus guilt, trust versus mistrust, identity versus role confusion, integrity versus despair, industry versus inferiority, generativity versus stagnation, and intimacy versus isolation.
