It is important to know the operating system of a computer, because there ... are variances between different operating systems. For example, the interface alone is very different between MacOS and Windows. Secondly, the steps the operating systems take to accomplish assorted tasks also vary between operating systems. Even the capabilities vary between operating systems. My computer has 4 GB of RAM on it. Having enough RAM on your computer is important to ensure you can run a program or multiple programs at once without experiencing performance issues. While 4 GB of RAM is not a lot, my computer does not allow for upgradable RAM; as I do not use my computer for much besides researching and writing, it is acceptable for the time being. I also have access to another computer with more RAM. My computer has a processor speed of 1.7 GHz. While the processor for this computer would be quite slow for gaming, for example, the speed is acceptable for the tasks for which I sue the computer on a regular basis such as schoolwork. A faster processor is important, put most simply, because it allows your computer to complete tasks more quickly. My computer would need a faster processer if I wanted to do more process at a time more efficiently.
