IT283 Unit_5_Assignment_2.docx Unit 5 Assignment 2 IT283- Networking with TCP/IP This class has been very eye opening; I had learned so much and had no idea how in depth networking could be. To... be honest I never put any thought into it I knew the basics that your device had to be connected to the internet in order to send anything or receive anything but never looked past that. Finding out that using the internet is a lot more than just connecting to a network but learning the behind-the-scenes stuff was very interesting. I learned that the primary language the internet uses is the Transmission Control Protocol/ Internet Protocol or TCP/IP for short. The Transmission Control Protocol is responsible for taking big chunks of data and compiling it into smaller packets, and the Internet Protocol takes those smaller packets of data and transports them to the right destination. I learned vaguely about the OSI model in my last networking class but went more into detail in this class. What was interesting to me was that before the OSI model was the TCP/IP model which only consisted of four layers, the Application Layer, Transport layer, Internet Layer, and the Network Access Layer. When the OSI model was introduced it replaced the TCP/IP model and also added a few more layers, the Presentation Layer, Session Layer, Network Layer, Data Link Layer, and the Physical Layer. What interested me the most was learning about Binary and the Hexa-decimal system. I knew that all data on the computer was comprised of on. . . . . .. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .. . .. .. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
