The problem with this notion is that we could speculate that stopping at a stop sign saves lives, but we could on the other hands ay that driving a car destroys the environment. The relationship between œdoing good and œbeing good would be essentially two sets of morals. Examples of this would be it is good to help someone by opening the door this is a œdoing good but not opening the door would also not count against you as not moral or bad. An example of œbeing good would be to simply follow the law, this type of activity has a negative consequence.
