Lab 1: Introduction to Electrical Measurements Oren Shed Matthew Amezaga ECEN 214 – 522 TA: Meltem Apaydin Lab Date: January 31, 2020 Due Date: February 7, 2020Procedure(theory) Task 1 of t... he lab consisted of using the AD2 to take a DC voltage measurement from a 1.5 V battery. The battery was connected to the breadboard and then an AD2 channel was connected to get a voltage measurement. When we added a second AD2 channel there was a slight drop in the voltage reading. Task 2 of the lab consisted of using the waveform generator in the AD2 to produce an AC voltage source. The AC voltage source was measured using different peak-to-peak amplitudes and then changing the wave from a sine wave to a square wave. Task 3 was making a simple circuit using the waveform generator as our voltage source. Using a 1 resistor and a randomly selected resistor in the circuit we used this equation: k V2=V1R2/(R1+R2) . This equation allowed us to measure the value of our unknown resistor and then compare it to the resistor codes we had to see how strong our resistor was and how accurate the measurement was. Data Task 1: Analog Discovery Reading 1 (Single-channel: V = 1.607 V Analog Discovery Reading 2 (Dual-channel): V= 1.605 V and 1.608 V Digital Multimeter Reading (Isolated): 1.611 V Digital Multimeter Reading (AD in parallel): 1.423 V [Show More]
