The drug company that manufactured this medication was Eli Lilly right here in Indianapolis. This medication is used to prevent migraine headaches. An antibody binds to Calcitonin gene related peptide and blocks it from binding to the receptors. The audience that would use this brochure would be patients that have migraines. We need to education our migraine patients that this is a preventative medication. The age group that this would be geared to would be our adolescents to elderly patients. This medication has not been approved for pregnancy yet so I would make sure that you explain that to our pregnant patients. This brochure I made was available to read even if you do not understand medical terms. I added pictures and used basic wording to help with better understanding. I stated above that it would be for patients that have migraines frequently. This injection is available to help prevent migraines from happening. It does this by an antibody binds to Calcitone gene related peptide which then blocks it from binding to the receptors. Since this is a rather new medication, a lot of people have not heard about this medication. With this being as new as it is, there is also not any major drug interactions or side effects with this medication.
