Social and cultural competency comes from two phrases; social competency and cultural competency. In research, social competency is the ability of a person to analyze behaviors, feelings, and thoughts of themselves and others and select and implement the behavioral, emotional, and cognitive resources necessary when dealing with certain personal and social situations (Danso, 2018). On the other hand, cultural competence is the person™s ability to appreciate, understand, and interact with people of different cultures or belief systems (Henderson et al., 2018). These aspects have been an integral part of any research. Besides, the government supports these research aspects to reduce ethnicity, racism, and social, economic disparities. But how these aspects are essential remain not well known. The concept of social, cultural competence is very imperative in social psychology.
