When look... ing at data I feel that its impotent to look at how the student was given the info or assignment if it was a new person giving it to them and if they where in a new learning environment. I feel that when you are doing say timed readings doing those in a room that the student knows as well as with someone that is not new they will do better as they are not going to be as distracted or worried about messing up. I feel that taking the assessment data to look at when planning future learning is very helpful. This will help you to know what worked for what students and what might need to be changed up a bit. Not only will this information help with the students you would have at the time but it will help in years to come as you are able to make changes to better your lesson and the way you present it to the students. This will help fill learning gasps and any patterns that you might be seeing. Some times it might be a very small change well other times it might be a larger one. When planning to be able to engage students in to a self- regulation cycle knowing the confidence level that the student has is a big thing. This will help you to know what the strengths are that the student has as well as how much they are willing to take on by them self.
