The teaching plan that was developed, was developed to aim at children in middle school from ages 12-15 years old. Considering that children this age are starting to develop curiosity of themselves and others, they want to be close to their friends and family, it is important that they recognize one way to stop the spread of germs. With COVID-19 numbers on the rise, and children going back to school, having the children realize that their handwashing can help prevent the spread of COVID-19 is also important. The teaching plan address when and how the children should wash their hands and the benefits of washing hands with soap and water, and also alcohol-based sanitizers, show the proper techniques and the critical times that hand washing should be done (Kingston, et al. 2016). Most people believe that handwashing should be done only after using the restroom. Germs and bacteria, on the other hand, can be found on a variety of surfaces. As a result, the teaching plan aims to instill the importance of hand hygiene throughout the childrens daily lives.
