Professional performance in a team environment – Task Description: You have been working in a team with 4 or 5 other students, finding innovative solutions to a business problem (Local Books Books... tore Pty Ltd). Please comment on your experience of teamwork and give examples which show that you satisfy the performance criteria listed to an acceptable Australian workplace standard. Module 2 – Assessment 2 Student Name: Pragyan Karkee Class Code: PC20-Sat Class Location: Canberra Date: 12 Oct 2020 Criteria: Key Performance Indicators: Comments and examples of my own performance in the team: 1 Create opportunities to maximize innovation as a member of a team Developing clear goals. Assessing members’ skills in the planning of the project. Allowing for cross-fertilization of ideas. Apart of my jobs as a programmer, we all are really involve in every set of task each of us perform as we decided to work more closely together which allows us to share our knowledge, experience, skills, suggestions and recommendations with each other. We were honest and open while sharing ideas with each other and we explore initiatives without fear to maximize innovation. 2 Support and guide team members All members of the team respect individual members’ different ways of contributing ideas. During team formation, I am interested in someone who align with teamwork culture but not necessarily same as me. My focus on my teammates was someone with passion and respect. This diverse team allows us to be much more creative and motivated. 3 Reflect on how the team is working Maintaining open communication and a positive team culture. Identifying obstacles and working to overcome them. I believe I have been cultivating positive culture in a team. I have setup regular meetings where every member could share their misunderstanding and appreciation among particular team members in a team with a positive attitude and respect. I try as much to settle those differences and work on those issues straight away. I always try to lead by example. 4 Manage time independently and as part of a group Set timelines and targets for specific tasks. Stick to agreed schedules. Share the load efficiently and effectively. 1. It was quite hard for me to implement teammates ideas and suggestions as quickly as possible which leave my mates less motivated to continue to share ideas and it even decrease our team’s productivity. To avoid this behavior, group member Amrit suggest me to make a todo list with all the suggestions, break those tasks and do them straightaway or ask for help. This method is helpful to me. I have done a good job at interpreting, analyzing, and testing ideas that were generated during our discussion. I have applied new ideas in specific contexts by seeing existing situations in a different angle which allow me to generate positive outcome. I have combined ideas from different popular and attractive sites to form something original of my own, sifting and refining ideas to discover better possibilities and constructing my own design by believing my intuition. 6 Monitor own performance and plan/initiate measures to improve it Compare own work with others. Model behaviour on respected peers. Keep a learning diary. Ask for feedback from team members. Take initiative. I have regularly notified and explain my team with all my task on time, ask help and provide help in need and most of my teammates also have done so as well. This behavior allows us to know who is doing a good job and who is underperforming. This also make us easier to correct and develop the underachievement. 7 Recognize and develop profile of specific workrelated skills Team skills audit. Ensure best use of skills and abilities of team members in distribution of tasks. Challenge others to be creative. Before we start working on a task, all members of our group have had detail conversation and trail period to showcase their individual skills. As we all have basic knowledge for all tasks, but we choose our particular skill which will suits us. I worked as developer along with Ajay because I have enough language knowledge to be able to code a website. I also have regular tasks swaps that foster new perspectives from my teammates and help me be more creative. I even encourage them to do a same. Overall comments on the teamwork project and ideas for improvement: Overall, I believe my performance had been excellent regarding the knowledge and skill that I felt I have contributed to a group. This had been a new and different learning curve for me. This fosters deep friendship between us group and motivate me along with others to work harder, cooperate and be supportive of one another. I am very aware of my weaknesses; I must improve my communication skills and be discipline and punctual to further progress in this environment. [Show More]
