Continuing professional development involves the activities of pursuing and recording the skills, knowledge, and proficiencies gained when engaging in formal or informal actions involving a specific w... ork (Halton et al. 2014, p. 8). CPD improves the understanding and quality of the job since the individual can perfect on his/her skills about the subject area or role (Ritchie and Walker 2008, p. 26). Most organizations recommend the employees under this program to physically document their development as professionals in a physical portfolio (Earley 2007, p. 9). The program benefits an individual since he/she can identify the strongholds and weaknesses in their work operations. Typical examples of CPD include work-based learning, experiential learning and peer monitoring (Todd 2017, p. 56). In this essay, a discussion will be made about the influence of CPD in my professional body. The paper will also explain several learning development strategies which ensure a successful CPD program.
