As winter break and the holidays approach, there are many concerns regarding college students returning to family homes for the break. My primary prevention campaign is to decrease the risk of COVID-19 exposure and infection among college students through a social media campaign. (B1) Health Inequity/Disparity Health disparities are defined as the differences in the incidence, prevalence, mortality, and burden of diseases and other adverse health conditions that exist among specific population groups in the United States (National Heart Lung and Blood Institute, 2017). Many disparities accompany COVID-19, involving age, race, culture, social and economic status, access to care, knowledge deficit, and even a lack of compliance. According to Healthy People 2020, although the term disparity is often interpreted to mean racial or ethnic disparities, many dimensions of disparity exist in the United States, particularly in health. If a health outcome is seen to a greater or lesser extent between populations, there is disparity.
