This paper will outline a plan proposal for the outpatient oncology department of the hospital. If implemented, it would increase the quality of care for cancer patients receiving chemotherapy and radiation while also reducing emergency room visits and hospital admissions. Objective The plan proposed would be an extension of the outpatient oncology department where patients with frequent and uncontrolled symptoms to chemotherapy and radiation can obtain quality, proactive care for symptom relief. If this plan is implemented and the objective achieved, quality of life for oncology patients will improve, and the hospital will reduce its emergency room visits and inpatient hospitalizations.
