Depending on what the patient is currently going through socially and emotionally can affect how much information they will divulge. Upon conducting my assessment of E.F., she immediately presented as relaxed and in good spirits. The patient was immediately willing to answer assessment questions and elaborate when necessary Social determinants of health are conditions within a persons life which have a direct effect on health and quality of life. These determinants can directly effect a person by providing opportunity or restricting how people are able to obtain basic needs, health care, community resources, social supports, etc. There are five key social determinants of health. Those are identified as Economic Stability, Education, Social and Community Context, Health and Health Care and Neighborhood and Built Environment. (Social Determinants of Health/Healthy People 2020, 2018) There are factors that must be considered for each of these five determinants. When looking at Economic Stability, you must assess whether a patient has adequate employment, food and housing. When assessing Education, one must take into consideration how far a patient has taken their education and whether that education will provide opportunities for better employment.
