Social_Media_Survey_Reflection_.docx Social Media Survey TECH 519 Using Social Media in the Classroom University of Phoenix This coming year will be my 11th year of teaching middle school Mat... hematics, I look forward to always expanding my classroom approach and changing the ways I introduce and teach concepts. Through reflection, I have realized that the middle school classroom is the realm for where I find my confidence and success as an educator. I am a strong believer that educators can always further their own learning, so that we can use the most current trends in education. This will enable me to best help my students achieve success in collaboration, communication, and critical thinking skills. Students are now the digital natives, and it is my job to be proactive and adapt to their learning styles, so that I may help them to see success in the future. I find great happiness in continuing my own education and enjoy being on both sides of the classroom. Social media is an ever-present component of my students™ education, and I am excited to learn more about its current and ever changing place in today™s curricula. I created a survey using Survey Monkey to help me understand how students use social media for academic purposes. Through the survey I will be able to discover the students comfortably with social media platforms, the amount of time they spend on them, and what type of platform they use the most.
