Stu Dents, the... defendant, was found guilty of homicide, assault involving an officer, kidnapping, and crimes connected to drugs. The courts did not have enough evidence to charge him with the crime of burglary. We have reached the sentencing phase in this case. At this time, we will hear from both the prosecuting and defending attorneys. Then the court will make their closing statements and sentencing against the possibility of Mr. Stu Dents. The sentencing had presented on state or federal rules. Both the prosecution and defense attorneys had a chance to talk with the courts along with closing arguments. They were able to argue why the defendant could be found guilty or innocent of the said crimes. The judge will listen and consider both sides of the prosecution and defense arguments and look over all the evidence presented to the court during the trial process. The defendant Mr. Dent was found not to be guilty of burglary, however they did find Mr. Dent guilty of the following crimes homicide, kidnapping, assault of a police officer, and possession of drugs. The victim Uma Opee had been stabbed13 times; evidence showed and leaded up to the defendant's skin particles from the defendant matched in the DNA found under the victim's fingernails.
