Evidence-based practice is the research that incorporates the best data available to guide ideal nursing care, with the purpose of enhancing safety and value. The scenario set is for aiding a new nurse dealing with a patient assignment that he has never encountered before. Although trained and just completing orientation, working with a manic or bipolar patient is a lot to handle. Their emotional and mental state is ever shifting and fluctuating. For a new nurse, this patient may present a challenge due to the excessive demands of this client and how their fluctuating state can affect the nurses own energy and emotional well-being (Ramírez-Martín, et al., 2020). Not only will the new nurse be taught how to research evidenced-based practice while working with this type of patient, but communication strategies will also be explored.
