Explain your answer. - Yes, the dating of Adam is important because when interpreted literally we have to take in the original Biblical account. Christian scientists argue for a more recent date than evolutionists, but it is important to stand firm in the dating of Adam to prove Biblical evidence further down the road. (Davis, 75) 4. When was the origin of the “soul” in man? - The origin of the “soul” of man originally came from the idea that God was giving man the breath of life. (Davis, 76) 5. Explain how dust cannot be a symbol for animal life. - As we all know, dust is an inanimate object and does not symbolize a living thing, animal, or human. In Genesis 3:18 it talks about how soil on earth is cursed by God, and that it will produce thorns and thistles. Dust cannot be a symbol for life because God does not view dust as a living thing made in his image. (Davis, 77) 6. Which of the six marriage principles stands out the most to you and why? - All of the six marriage principles are solid and important to have in your marriage, but the one that stands out to me the most would be the fourth principle which says that a husband and wife are suppose to be unified both physically and spirially. They are to be equally yoked and it is important to have that spiritual connection first. They are then to be bonded by love and respect. In my opinion, if you have a strong spiritual connection, the Lord will allow for you to have a strong physical connection because of the love you have for one another and for the Lord. (Davis, 78) 7. Who is the “us” referring to in Genesis 1:26? Explain. - According to Davis, the Hebrew grammar refres to “us” as God speaking with Himself in the plural manner (Davis, 80) 8. What is included in the phrase “the image of God” (besides “likeness”)? - Besides the word “likeness”, the word image comes to mind because the two words are synonymous and apply the same meaning.
