NHS FPX4010 Assessment3 1.docx NURS-FPX4010 Interdisciplinary Plan Proposal NURS-FPX4010 Capella University Interdisciplinary Plan Proposal My assistant manager and I are working on solving the... issue of patients being placed on our observation unit when they clearly should be on an inpatient unit. We would mainly work with the patient placement department as well as the emergency department and nursing supervisor. The desired outcome is for appropriate patient placement so the patients get the best care they deserve and a faster turnover rate on our observation unit so we have more beds available. Objective My plan is to come up with an algorithm that will help the employees in patient placement know the best unit to admit someone to so the patient will get the quality care they need. The objective is to improve efficiency on the observation unit and have patients on the units that are best equipped for treating them based on their diagnosis. Questions and Predictions 1.) How long will the it take patients to be placed using the new algorithm? a. While the process may take a couple more minutes, in the long run itll be more beneficial to the patient and unit. 2.) Will the staff members in patient placement be able to understand the algorithm? a.
