Learning can take place involving any one of many learning theories ranging from Pavlovs Learning theory to Gestalts Learning theory. Which theory being used will depend on exactly what is being learned and the desired outcome. Application of Learning Theory One thing I have always wanted to learn is American Sign Language. The hearing impaired is an often-overlooked population and being involved in sports and organizations such as Special Olympics, knowing sign language can help develop those relationships needed in psychology. Because I am a visual and kinesthetic learner, the learning theory closest to my learning style is Banduras Social Cognitive Learning Theory. This theory basically states that an individual's, no matter of what age, learning is a result of observing others doing what is desired or undesired. In other words, people learn by observing the desired action and the consequences of that action, thus individuals will remember that action based on the modeling and said consequence.
