My natural outgrowth through Humanities of Art One of Vincent van Gogh’s most famous paintings, The Starry Night is a perfect piece ofart to demonstrate interrelationships between different art form... s and it his painting leaves a deepimpression on many of us. He was inspired by Walt Whitman but in later years others like AnneSaxton was encouraged by his paintings too. All artist uses some kind of media paint, writes,play, dance or build, either way artist share some common connection with special purpose: “therevelation of values” (Martin 2018 p. 378). Van Gogh definitely made special connectionbetween past, present and future artist.Van Gogh painted this oil painting in 1889 after his mental episode in 1888 that causedhim cuts his ear off. Evidence shown -he sent letter to his sister- about his admiration towardWhitman’ s poem, according to Martin. The choice of colors and objects in his painting interpretWhitman’s poem such as “And tawny streaks and shades and spreading blue” and “Carrying thecrescent child that carries its own full mother in its belly” (Martin, 2018 p.387). And almost acentury later, in 1961, Anne Sexton wrote a poem and perhaps named it after van Gogh’smasterpiece “The Starry Night”.
