Shays rebellion at first was not successful but eventually led state legislatures to ease tax and decrease the burden of landowners. This also made political leaders realize they needed a stronger government. The states appointed delegates to represent them, and the Philadelphia convention was held to revise the articles of confederation. This led to the constitutional convention where they established how separation of powers and authority would be handled among the government and states. People who supported the constitution were called federalist which believed the constitution was how it should be, and that following a powerful, strong, and talented man was how they would prevent tyranny. While people who did not support the constitution and thought that it should include a bill of rights to protect the people from tyranny, thought that the states were the protectors and that if the states lost to much power it would encourage random and unorganized power or authority. These people were called antifedera. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .. . . . . .. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .. . .. .. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .. . . . .
