Applying_Leadership_Theories.docx Applying Leadership Theories LDR/535 Applying Leadership Theories Introduction Throughout many organizations there have been a time where change is needed for ... that organization to remain successful. Within that, there are different leadership theories that need to be considered for that organizations to change successfully. I will be explaining change that was needed at the organization where I was employed, and the leadership theory that was placed to accomplish that change. The Needed Change I worked for an organization that processed chickens and shipped them across the globe. This company is owned by some billionaire in Brazil, so the owner isn™t hands-on at any of the locations. The location that I was employed had very poor management skills and promoted individuals off association instead of knowledge or skill of the job. This was the main cause of the problem because most of the leaders lacked any kind of leadership abilities. Without that leadership ability when things went wrong, they would blame the employee. Once the problem began to decrease the production rate and increase employee retention rate upper management looked to a solution. The organization hired an outside company to come in and train all leaders on how to treat people. In the hopes that this will increase production and provide a more sustainable workplace for all employees.
