Introduction Dr. Lockett is a Peace Corp director stationed in Namibia and is tackling the problem surrounding HIV stigma. The stigma for HIV is strong here especially for women who are positive fo... r HIV, even as far as driving a woman out of her community by burning a woman’s house. Additionally, if both the husband and wife are positive for HIV, the blame is automatically placed on the wife as she is seen as unfaithful, even though it might be due to the husband contracting HIV first.
